Anna Nilsson awarded ESG prize by CFA Sweden
Anna Nilsson, Head of sustainability analysis at Swedbank Robur, has today been awarded the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) prize to the person/organization that has meant the most to raise awareness of ESG *- issues in the investment process.
The award ceremony is a cooperation between Financial Hearings, Business World, Halvarsson & Halvarsson and CFA Sweden. In total about 20 different prizes in different categories were handed out during the ceremony held at the Opera Terrace in Stockholm.
Within the ESG category Anna Nilsson and Gunilla Hjalmarsson at meta asset management topped the list, and shared the first price.
- It is a great tribute to Anna Nilsson and our work spent on sustainability analysis and sustainability dialogue with companies. From Swedbank Robur, we are very pleased to receive this award. Our work with ESG issues has evolved tremendously in the recent years. Anna has contributed greatly to this development, said Marianne Nilsson, Head of Corporate Governance & SRI at Swedbank Robur, who was present to receive the prize.
- It's a big difference between 1980, when we at Swedbank Robur started our first sustainability fund and awareness and understanding of the importance of these issues today. Our belief today is that these issues are part of the investment company's long-term value creation and therefore a natural part of our investment process. Sustainability issues are now part of the business; it’s not a "side business", said Marianne Nilsson, and added:
- The award means a lot to us and encourages us to continue working with these issues. There is a huge customer interest, and the fact that the prize is now constituted is very important for the recognition of the importance of these issues.
Anna Nilsson, who could not be in place during the awards ceremony comments:
- It feels great for both my team and for Swedbank Robur to be awarded this prize. CFA is a very good organization. Swedbank Robur is the player on the financial arena who started early and is also most advanced, and has a serious commitment to sustainability funds. So if you are interested in working in the finance industry with sustainability issues, Swedbank Robur is one of the most interesting companies you can choose in the Nordic region.
